Mona has 35 years’ experience in the profession and serves as chair of the HIM program at Coppin State University. She has led health information departments in behavioral health, rehabilitation, and acute care settings and has worked for a health information outsourcing company. She served as President, President-elect, Director, Delegate, and chair of several committees for the Maryland Health Information Management Association. Mona served as chair of the Educational Strategies Committee, Council for Excellence in Education (CEE), Fellowship, and Nominating Committees. She participated on the AHIMA Advocacy and Policy Council, CEE Educational Programming Workgroup, and AHIMA Professional Ethics Committee, and she is currently on the Editorial Advisory Council for Journal of AHIMA. Mona is an accreditation peer reviewer for the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education.

Kevin Klauer, DO, EJD, FACEP, FACOEP, joined AHIMA in January 2024, as our new CEO. Kevin is a seasoned leader with a proven track record in association leadership and healthcare delivery. He brings a wealth of healthcare experience from senior executive positions at the American Osteopathic Association, TeamHealth, and Emergency Medicine Physicians Ltd., most recently serving as chief medical officer at HCA Florida Ocala and West Marion hospitals. As a highly regarded clinician, executive, educator, and thought leader, he has served on numerous national committees and boards dedicated to improving patient care and enhancing the quality of life for healthcare professionals. His distinctive blend of healthcare expertise and association leadership, coupled with his deep understanding of how the healthcare landscape is evolving, uniquely positions him to guide AHIMA to a future of innovation and growth. I am confident he will be a strong leader who will help us advance our mission across all our constituencies.

Dr. Jasmine T. Agnew, DHPE, MHIIM, RHIA, CPHIMS joined AHIMA in July 2024 as the Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs and Professional Credentials. Dr. Agnew brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of health informatics and information management. A distinguished educator and advocate for health equity, Dr. Agnew is known for her groundbreaking work in addressing inequities in healthcare Information Technology. Her research focuses on advancing healthcare, academic equity, and stakeholder involvement in curriculum development. Dr. Agnew has a proven record of accomplishments promoting competency-based healthcare education and workforce development at both local and national levels.

Dr. Agnew holds a Doctor of Health Professions Education degree from Logan University, along with multiple industry-related credentials and certifications. She is a graduate of prestigious institutions such as the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Agnew's passion for educating the HIT/HIM/HI community about emerging technologies and their impact on patient care sets her apart as a visionary leader in the field.

Senior Vice President, Academic Affairs & Professional Credentials | AHIMA

Sandra, an alum of Coppin State University holding a degree in Health Information Management, brings a wealth of expertise to her field. She is a Registered Health Information Administrator, showcasing proficiency in health system management, project management, and electronic health record applications. In her current role as a Healthcare Management Consultant, Sandra plays a pivotal part in the Veterans Health Administration Change Management program, emphasizing risk mitigation and program effectiveness. Previously, Sandra served as the Director of Health Information Management at Woodbine Rehabilitation Center and Corizon Health. Her leadership significantly contributed to enhancements in clinical documentation, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. Beyond her professional roles, Sandra actively participates in community service and contributes to organizations such as MDAHIMA and the Coppin HIM Advisory Board. Sandra's journey from Director to Consultant reflects her dedication to continuous growth and impactful contributions to healthcare operations.

Healthcare Management Consultant | AHIMA

Jill has successfully led the development for AHIMA’s first micro-credential product, developed and implemented a subject-matter expert (SME) recruitment initiative resulting in a robust group of SMEs, and assisted with compliance plan development and documentation to successfully maintain NCCA accreditation for two certification programs. Prior to joining AHIMA, she spent more than seven years at the American Society for Quality (ASQ) in a variety of progressive certification roles, including most recently as their Senior Assessment Specialist. She assisted in leading the ASQ certification team transition from Paper-based testing to Computer based testing and led the team to achieve NCCA accreditation for their certification programs. She has successfully led and managed all phases of the exam development process from job analyses to cut score studies during her time at ASQ.
