Closing the Clinician Coding Gap with AI
Session Sponsored by Fathom
Presented by: Austin Ward, Head of Growth, Fathom; Cindy Spann, Executive Director of HIM, Community Health Network; Cindy Otero, Senior Director of Revenue Cycle, NCH Healthcare System; Audra Begley, HIM Outpatient Coding Manager, Community Health Network
Clinician-coded encounters hide a revenue integrity gap that denial reports miss: under-coding that erodes margin and over-coding that invites payer scrutiny. Leaders from Community Health Network and NCH Healthcare System share how they moved autonomous coding from pilot to practice, including measured results and lessons for closing the gap across specialties.

Understanding Autonomous Coding: The Basics and Ochsner Health's Four-Year Journey
Session Sponsored by Nym
Presented by: Kacie Geretz, RHIA, CCA, Director of Growth Enablement, Nym, and Vicki Kaplan, VP of Revenue Cycle Coding and HIM, Ochsner Health
AI-powered autonomous coding is on more HIM roadmaps, but a clear picture of its practical application is harder to find. Nym opens with the fundamentals: how autonomous coding works, which specialties it supports today, and the results customers are seeing today. Ochsner Health then shares what it has learned since implementing autonomous coding for emergency department coding in 2022, and the operational and financial impact it has seen four years later.
